With the semi-frequent updates to AutoSPInstaller, especially changes to the input XML file, I find the easiest way to get my existing values into the updated format is to do a straight line-by-line comparison, using a tool like Beyond Compare. I also use this to compare input files for different environments, different servers within a farm, etc. Pretty much indispensable.

I'll admit that this is a bit of self promotion, but I've been using the xmlConfigEditor I wrote. It lets me load the new AutoSPInstaller.xml file and compare it to an existing AutoSPInstaller.xml file. It highlights and expands the tree for each attribute or element that is different. I can then quickly go through and modify the new format file with my old values and save a new copy. You can find it here:
