Office WebApps installed

Hi,

AutoSPInstaller sounds like a good resource for SharePoint Installation, am a beginner as an admin and I really appreciate if you can help me with this.

I am trying to install Office Web Apps for SharePoint 2010,  I currently have a SharePointServer.exe file alone and I need some help to proceed with my installation.

  1. I have both Enterprise Key and Internet Sites Key.  Does office web apps come default with these licenses?
  2. If not I can download it  here http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/subscriptions/downloads/default.aspx?pv=1:407
and do I need to approach Microsoft for additional licensing for Office Web Apps from whom we got the licensing keys?
  3. Does Office Web Apps need to be installed on every server in my farm ( WFE, APP in my case) or it just helps in Load balancing if it is installed and AutoSPInstaller takes care of installing on multiple servers?
  4. After Installation do I need to activate the feature...like limiting it to a particular site collection.
  5. Any order do I need to follow for Web Apps Service Applications. ( Word Viewing, Excel, PowerPoint) and if possible any precautions to take for performance down the lane.

Thanks in advance,

Ramii

Hi Ramii,

as far as I remember Office Web Apps is part of Microsoft Office and licensed as Volume license, so the download is somewhere hidden within MSDN. Check this guide about licensing http://download.microsoft.com/download/A/D/8/AD8518E1-A7C5-4233-B9CE-05BF4914F37F/Office_2010_Volume_Licensing_Guide.docx

About installation instructions check Technet: http://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/ff431687.aspx#bkmk_ins_exis_farm
