script bombing at managed accounts

Nov 30, 2011 at 4:28 PM

I haven't changed much of the script but it bombs here.  I've only changed the DOMAIN\ to localhost\ because we are unable to create any domain accounts.

I've tried creating those accounts (local to the machine with passwords) and included those passwords in the script with the same result.

When I do create them and try runnning the script it bombs at the first check (accounts and passwords)

Any suggestions what I am missing?

You need to use SERVERNAME\ (ie, the name of the server) rather than localhost\

Actually I'd be surprised if you got anywhere with local accounts, since AutoSPInstaller (or SharePoint 2010, for that matter) wasn't really designed for use on non-domain servers or for installing using local accounts.

Hi Brian,

There are a couple of instances where I would like to use local machine accounts and not domain accounts.  Is there a work around for this?

There are some workarounds out there (search for "SharePoint 2010" "local account"...) but no plans to support local accounts for AutoSPInstaller.
