Microsoft SharePoint Foundation administration tool has stopped working

description

I am getting twice the error that the "Microsoft SharePoint Foundation administration tool has stopped working" during the installation of the SharePoint binaries (SharePoint 2013 patched with March 2013 by AutoSPSourceBuilder).

Any clue whats causing this?

Me too, but I´m still at CU December 2012

So this should either be in the AutoSPSourceBuilder issues list, or I guess raised to the community/MS as an issue with SharePoint 2013 itself... AutoSPInstaller isn't doing anything at this point of the script except waiting for the binaries to finish installing (which is in Microsoft's court).

Does the install and the rest of the script complete successfully though?

This is specifically a known issue with only including the December 2012 CU in the Updates folder. Make sure that whatever files were in that directory before running AutoSPSourceBuilder are deleted and not left over from a previous update. This does not occur if you download the March 2013 PU and extract them into the Updates folder. Either way, this is not an issue with AutoSPSourceBuilder.

Microsoft states that the installation is not affected by this and will continue on if you hit the close button. I would suggest either slipstreaming only the March 2013 Public Update or not including any updates in the installation source.

Thanks! Tried a clean install with March PU - worked like a charm!

Close please!
