before I start with my feature suggestion, I'd like to thank you very much for your great work so far - your work is an outstanding example for open source projects! All of the folks of my team say hi and send you the best greetings from bavaria, germany!

Steve Peschka stated that App Fabric updates (eg. App Fabric CU4) includes bug fixes and performance improvements for SharePoint 2013 environments (

Therefor we install App Fabric updates manually after the SP binary setup is complete (using the "pause after install" feature) on all our customers farm deployments.

It would be a great improvement to have a certain folder within the AutoSPInstaller folder structure for App Fabric updates and a switch within the input xml file to tell the script to apply the update. In my opinion, the best time to do so would be after the binary installation has completed and before starting the farm creation process.

Thanks Christian for the kind words of support!

The AppFabric update (specifically CU4 and the changes required to DistributedCacheService.exe.config) is something I've already scripted in fact, and was considering releasing as a separate script (maybe on the TechNet scripting center). Haven't decided if it should instead be rolled into AutoSPInstaller but will transfer this discussion to an Issue (feature request) anyhow.
