Change History XML version

Hopefully by now a lot of people are using AutoSPInstaller to manage the base configuration of their farm build. I know that I look at it as a core component of a consistent build process.

One thing I'd like to suggest is a change document, not so much of the features and bugs implemented, but of how the XLM structure and elements may change between each release. I am maintaining close to a dozen configuration files for one company, as we're progressing from Dev/integration/stage/uat/qa/performance/production builds we're adjusting for reasons like SP1 release, the impending HA implications of the April CU and issues uncovered in the build process.

When an update comes out for ASPI I would find it helpful to have a readme.doc to refer to that outlines how the XML has changed between releases to simplify updating the configuration.

You mean like this? http://autospinstaller.codeplex.com/SourceControl/list/changesets

You can also do a side-by-side diff of the XML here: https://autospinstaller.codeplex.com/SourceControl/latest#AutoSPInstallerInput.xml

As far as updating your local configuration, a tool like WinMerge or BeyondCompare is ideal for comparing before and after XML files and updating an existing file with new elements etc.
