Hello friends,

Need some help with the failing ASPI 3.86 script at the step of Provisioning Enterprise Search. I ensured that all the required information was provided in the input XML. Here is the error I'm getting:

- Provisioning Enterprise Search...

Look at the code at line 3391 and the error. The code is expecting a string but it is Null.

Thanks Joseph, once again I got into the trap of AutoSPInstallerGUI v12 that is supposed to be working for ASPI 3.86. However, it looks like that here are so many passwords that are left blank after completing the input XML.

Takeaway/Lesson Learned: Always browse the imput XML file in an editor to ensure all the inputs are recorded in the file.

BTW, the install is now going fine :-)

Thanks,

Hi.

I'm the author of AutoSPInstallerGUI. Have you been able to replicate this issue? Do you remember which password fields were blank so that I can look into this?

Thanks,
Ivan

It was the content access account password. But I cannot confirm it is an issue of AutoSPInstallerGUI

Ivan,

The Password is not set for the following:
<EnterpriseSearchService .....
and
<ApplicationPool under <EnterpriseSearchServiceApplication

Hey Rav,

I have resolved this in the latest version. Sorry this took so long, I completely rewrote the app :)

Thanks,
Ivan
